Imphal, November 28 2010:
The United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has claimed that the party had given the chief of Moljan village, Chandel district, Ngamkholet Baite (56) capital punishement for not only being the advisor of a new outfit so-called Kuki National Liberation Front (KNLF) but also for misguiding innocent youths, and not as a village chief.
This was explained by JM Jou, secretary of Publicity and Information of UKLF during a press meet somewhere in Chandel district yesterday.
JM Jou told the media persons that farmers were planting poppy plants at Chamol hill in Chandel district.
Ngamkholet Baite was assigned to collect huge amount of money as tax for the poppy plantations with the aim of strengthening the KNLF.
He also led about ten innocent young men from Sugunu area to join the KNLF by telling them lies.
Jou further alleged that Baite was a man who took a major role in launching new militant outfit which the people as well as the government are most fed up with.
He was also a man who always tried to intimidate the people and mar social peace and tranquility.
Jou warned that any person, whether he is a village chief or king, who tries to launch new militant outfit which the public do not welcome, and also acts as an advisor to such new militant outfit like Ngamkholet Baite, would be given the same kind of punishment.
He further alleged that Ngamkholet Baite had also made suggestions to KNLF to launch attack at the UKLF outpost at Sajik Tampak and also its designated camp.
All these charges were investigated and monitored very carefully for a long time by the party, and finally the decision to give him death penalty was taken.
The penalty had to be given as he acted as the master-brain in launching KNLF, Jou said and appealed to the public not to feel that he was killed for being a village king.
He also warned one Chungjalen Haokip, who is also an advisor to KNLF just like Ngamkholet Baite, to contact the party with his own admission within seven days.
If not, he will also be given the same punishment as that of Ngamkholet.JM Jou of UKLF further informed that the KNLF, which is not a party under SoO, was given training by the KNA in Tengnoupal area in 2009, and kept in Churachandpur.
However, since the KNA neglected them, the KNLF broke into two factions.
One faction is in Churachandpur while another one is in Myanmar.
Both are breakers of peace, Jou said.
