Speaking to media persons this afternoon, general secretary of Transporters' and Drivers' Council Ng Haridas decried that transportation of essential commodities including rice, sugar and wheat to Jiribam by train during compelling situations was suspended since 2000 .
He questioned the failure of FCI to bring in essential commodities till the Jiribam rail-head even after knowing that there have been numerous problems on transportation of goods along the Imphal-Dimapur route for the last 10 years.
