Kpi, August 04 2023: Kuki Students' Organization General Headquarters (KSO-GHQ) expressed utter dismay over Manipur University authority's fresh admission notice and termed it as "insensitive in nature" towards the Kuki fraternity of the varsity.

Denouncing the recent notification, KSO urged the Manipur University authorities to address the issue of 400 Kuki students including 80 research scholars who are displaced right now by the ongoing conflict.

Further it demanded that all the cases of the Kuki students and research scholars have to be resolved on a case-to-case basis without compromising their future educational prospects and personal safety while steps should be taken to facilitate their protection of careers and fresh admission should be enabled in the hill areas and arrangements be made for the continuation of higher education for the Kuki community in the hill areas.

Lastly, it appealed to all the Kuki students to abstain from applying to the university if alternative arrangements have not been made for the affected students.
