SHRI achieves 200 device closures

Shija Hospitals and Research Institute Pvt Ltd has announced that it has successfully completed 200 device closures for holes in the heart in collaboration with Rashtriya Bal Swastha Karyakram (RBSK) on July 28 .
In a release, SHRI said the hospital has organised 35 device closure camps across all districts in Manipur, Nagaland and Mizoram catering to children aged 0 to 18 years through RBSK since November 2017 while PMJAY and CMHT health cards were used for device device closure for adults.
The treatment team have successfully performed 208 device closures (Manipur-178, Nagaland-17 and Mizoram-13) and 40 open heart surgeries till date, it said.
The device closure procedures performed at Shija Hospitals have enabled children and adolescents to overcome a range of health challenges including congenital heart defects, Atrial Septal Defects, Ventricular Septal Defects, and Patent Ductus Arteriosus among others.
These minimally invasive interventions have significantly improved the quality of life of young patients, allowing them to lead healthier and more active lives, it said.
The management of Shija Hospitals also extended its gratitude to the treatment teams, support staff and RBSK for their unwavering dedication, expertise and support towards achieving the milestone.
