Health Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh has said that the Government is committed to providing welfare to all medical students in the State.
During a press conference held today at his residence at Lamphel, Sanakeithel, the Minister said since the last six months, the Government has been taking up all efforts to maintain favourable academic atmosphere in the State.
There are four medical colleges in the State, RIMS, JNIMS, CMC and SHRC.
All the medical colleges are regulated by the National Medical Commission, NMC.
Churachandpur Medical College started its first session last year.
The Government has approached the NMC for making a special arrangement for students who could not appear in examinations due to the present crisis, he said.
The Manipur University is communicating with the Commission for arrangement of special examinations.
The State Government is trying its best to restore the academic atmosphere in the interest of the medical students, he added.
