LDA praised for cleaning Khordak channel

Chief Minister N Biren took to X (formerly Twitter) to praise Loktak Development Authority (LDA) for the successful completion of dredging/cleaning the Khordak Channel of Loktak Lake.
Recognising the role of the Channel in maintaining ecological balance of the largest freshwater lake of Northeast region, Biren emphasised its significance, saying, "The Khordak Channel of Loktak Lake plays a pivotal role in regulating water flow, sustaining a delicate balance that supports both local communities and a diverse array of plant and animal life".
Expressing his joy at this accomplishment, Biren said that it is a significant step towards realising his cherished dream of restoring Loktak Lake to its pristine, untarnished grandeur.
Highlighting the collective responsibility for preserving Loktak Lake, Biren acknowledged, "The preservation of Loktak Lake is not just a governmental initiative but a collective responsibility that requires the active participation of each community.
I express my sincere gratitude to the communities of Thanga, Khordak, Nongmaikhong, and Laphupat Tera for their unwavering support in our conservation efforts".
The CM extended special thanks to Loktak Development Authority and its chairman M Asnikumar for the achievement.
Emphasising the importance of continued collaboration, Biren also said, "As we celebrate this milestone, I want to emphasise the importance of continued collaboration".
He underlined Loktak Lake as a precious natural treasure deserving utmost care.
The CM also urged every citizen to join hands in the ongoing conservation initiatives, stating that public support is instrumental in achieving the shared goal of ensuring a sustainable and thriving environment.
In conclusion, Biren called for collective action to protect Loktak Lake and secure a brighter, greener future for Manipur.
