Senapati, November 03 2023:
In denunciation of the state government's failure to respond favourably to its demand for restoring mobile internet service, All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) enforced its economic blockade on Friday at 6 pm.
The decision to call the economic blockade was made by the ANSAM during its second legislative assembly on October 31 at Tamei, Tamenglong, in case the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed between the Manipur government and ANSAM did not materialise.
The MoA promised internet connectivity within five days and the appointment of 190 assistant professors on contract basis.
ANSAM is totally against continued blanket internet ban in the state, which, it says, breaches the MoA.
Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) on Friday released a notification informing the public that it fully endorses the decision taken during ANSAM's second legislative assembly to resume the suspended agitation due to the breach of the agreement signed between ANSAM representatives and GoM on October 26.Stating its commitment to the community's welfare and concerns, the SDSA vowed to strictly enforce the decision (economic blockade) within its jurisdiction.
The students' body also made a public call for understanding and cooperation in order to achieve the objectives of the agitation.
