Imphal, January 20 2024:
Boycotting celebration of Statehood Day on January 21, the proscribed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) has said that there is no meaning for the people of Manipur to join the celebration of Manipur's statehood status granted by India in 1972 .
Appealing to people not to join the Statehood Day celebration, a PREPAK statement said that the ongoing genocide campaign and ethnic cleansing of indigenous people of Kangleipak (Manipur) by Chin-Kuki people in coordination with Kuki-Narco-Terrorists is a result of India's occupation of Kangleipak for 75 years.
India's prolonged occupation has led to complete deprivation of human rights and the right to self-determination of Kangleipak, which was ruled by successive kings for thousands of year, the PREPAK statement said.
Questioning the legitimacy of Manipur's statehood granted by India in 1972, the PREPAK statement issued by its charge-de-affairs of publicity and propaganda Leibaak Ngaakpa Luwang said that there has been a namesake administration in Kangleipak (Manipur) under India's diktat since 1972.Accusing India of continuing the colonial British policy of divide and rule and inciting enmity between different communities for self-annihilation, the PREPAK statement said that India has been putting enormous efforts to wipe out history, culture, tradition, polity and economy of Kangleipak (Manipur) instead of acknowledging the rich civilization of Kangleipak (Manipur) .
To further Indian imperialism, Indian intellectuals are writing false history of Kangleipak (Manipur) and the rapid Indianization has diminished the proud history and culture of Kangleipak (Manipur) apart from suppressing work culture and indigenous economy.
While asserting that the outfit stands against forced assimilation of Kangleipak (Manipur)'s history and cultural identities, PREPAK urged the people to avoid participating in Indianization process like Statehood Day celebration.
