PCC, FORCE triumph in MNCA Superplate Tournament

Imphal, April 07 2023:
PCC (MayaiKoibi) and FORCE (Kshetrigao) emerged the victors in Friday's fixtures of the MNCA Superplate Tournament.
PCC handed PSC (Khuy athong) a nine-wicket hammering in their Group B action at Cherapur, Thoubal.
The Mayai Koibi squad restricted their opponents to 156/7 in the stipulated 40 overs courtesy of Rohit Sou-bam and Thoudam Monet who both scalped three wickets.
In the PSC innings, Ningthoujam Ranjan (29 not out), Laimayum Prasantajit Sharma (27), Rajkumar Sur-chand (19), Kharaijam Sagarjit (19) and Ibungomacha Hijam (11 not out) were notable contributors.
In their response, PCC took 28.5 overs to overhaul the target, losing one wicket in the process.
After opener Charoibam Tyson was dismissed lbw by Prasantajit Sharma, the PCC duo of Rohit Soubam and Thokchom Anand Singh ably took care of the task and helped their side secure an emphatic win.
Rohit, who batted at No 2, was unbeaten on 66 off 87 balls while Anand, who came.
at No 3, was 62 off 76 balls not out.
All-round Rohit Soubam earned the man of the match accolade for his unbeaten 66 and 3 wickets.
FORCE, on the other hand, got the better of YWC (Langthabal) by 29 runs in their Group A meeting at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak, Imphal East.
Efforts by Khushru Pravez (71), Saddam Ahmed Shah (61) and Tashib Alam (30 not out) helped FORCE to a competitive total of 223/8 in 35 overs.
In the process, the Khestrigao side lost two wickets each to M Subahsh, H Manikanta and Yenshenbam Vivek while one each got dismissed by S Robinson and N Bikramjit, FORCE then bowled out YWC in 34.2 overs for 194 to claim a convincing victory.
Arshahd Ali Shah made the most of the YWC batting lineup by racking up four wick- ets as Tashib Alam did his bit with three and Mushir Alam took two, with Mohammad Islauddin accounting for one.
YWC's run chase saw Jiko Sorokhaibam top-score for the team with 47, followed by N Bingson (44), S Robinson (21 not out), N Bishwash (2l) and S Robinson (13) .
Arshahd Ali Shah, who took 4 wickets and scored 11, was adjudged the man of the match.
