Good Friday celebrated

As observed across the globe, Christians in Manipur celebrated "Good Friday" today to mark the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and the last day of the holy week.
Good Friday was celebrated today at Leibi Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Leibi village by organising worship service and fasting.
At the event, Church leaders shared gospel messages and recalled the day Jesus Christ sacrificed his life on the cross for all the sins of mankind.
The Church leaders also prayed for peace and harmony among all the communities residing in the State.
ASSAM RIFLES
On the auspicious occasion of Good Friday, Modi Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) distributed blankets and essential items at Destitute Children Home, Liwachangching village in Chandel district.
The assistance was provided to help the children living at the Destitute Home, said a release issued by IGAR(S) .
Moreover, Khuga Battalion also organised an Easter feast for village chiefs of Behiang, Churachandpur district on April 7 .
The event was conducted with the aim to create a synergy and cordial relationship with the villagers of the area.
Later, an interactive session with respect to AOR security was also conducted.
It was participated by about 15 village chiefs.
