BJYM State Unit conducts cleanliness drive

Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha (BJYM) State Unit organised a cleanliness drive at Khwairamband Keithel areas and river bed of Nambul River today.
The cleanliness drive was carried out as a part of the ongoing Samajik Nyay Saptah ( Social Justice Week) which will be carried out till the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar on April 14 .
Speaking in connection with the cleanliness drive, BJYM State Unit Vice-president Deshraj Yumnam said that the cleanliness drive of the Nambul river is being carried out as per the directives of the Chief Minister.
The Nambul river which flows through the heart of Imphal city is highly polluted thereby posing serious danger to the well-being of living beings since it flows into the Loktak Lake, therefore the cleaning of river bed is being done, he added.
He further informed that various programmes have been lined up as a part of the ongoing observation of Social Justice Week.
Today's cleanliness drive was also attended by BJP State Unit Vice-president and Khadi & Village Industries Board Chairman N Nimbus and Workers' Welfare Board Chairman and Party General Secretary K Saratkumar among others.
