Stage set for C20-India conference

As a part of India's G20 presidency, Manipur would be hosting C20-India 2023 Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam National Conference tomorrow at Imphal.
Speaking to media persons at Hotel Imphal here today, Chinmaya Mission Chennai Resident Spiritual Mentor Swami Mitrananda said that Manipur would be hosting the C20-India conference for the first time in the North East region.
He said that C20-India Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam National Conference is one of the series of seminars which would be held in 15 States of the country as a part of the G20 Summit.
The message of C20 Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is a very old one.
Its message for the entire humanity is leaving aside all differences between different Nations and living together in peace as one family, Swami Mitrananda said.
The motto of India's G20 presidency is 'One Earth, One Family, One Future' and its underlying message is peaceful co-existence among all the G20 countries, he said.
A series of seminars would be held across the country on the same motto, and a draft policy based on inputs and ideas shared at these seminars would be prepared toward realisation of the same motto.
As the draft policy would be submitted to the Government of India, the C20-India 2023 conference scheduled at Hotel Classic is very significant, Swami Mitrananda said.
All the four subjects given for tomorrow's seminar are quite suitable to the State of Manipur, he said.
Apart from having its own unique religion, Manipur is a leading State in the field of education.
Moreover, Manipur, by virtue of its location on the international border, occupies a key position from the perspective of ecology, geopolitics and defence, he continued.
The first session of the C20-India 2023 National Conference would be addressed by Brajamani Sharma and Chinmaya Mission Chennai Resident Spiritual Mentor Swami Mitrananda on 'dharma' .
The second which would focus on education would be addressed by Central University of Haryana Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Sushma Yadav and Manipur University Vice-Chancellor Prof N Lokendra.
Prof Rajiv Sinha of Department of Earth Sciences, IIT Kanpur and Dr Vinita Gowda of IISER Bhopal would speak on ecology in the third session.
The fourth session which would focus on geopolitics and defence would be addressed by Lt Gen (retired) Sanjay Kulkarni and Brigadier Hemant Mahajan.
Lok Development Authority (LDA) Chairman Moirangthem Asnikumar said that C20 seminars would be held on 14 different subjects in 15 States.
The C20 seminar which would be held tomorrow at Imphal would focus on the four subjects of Dharma, Education, Ecology and Geopolitics & Defence, he said.
Asnikumar informed that Chief Minister N Biren would open the seminar.
Chinmaya Mission Trust Manipur secretary Lt Gen (retired) L Nishikanta Singh was also present at the press meet.
