2nd MNCA Superplate Tournament: PCC, FORCE extend winning runs with comfortable victories

PCC-Mayaikoibi overwhelmed PSC-Khuyathong by 9 wickets for their third win in four Group B matches while FORCE beat YWC-Lanthabal by 29 runs for the second straight Group A win in today's matches of the ongoing 2nd MNCA Superplate Tournament.
At Khangabok Part III Cherapur Public Ground, PSC posted a lowly total of 156 runs for 7 in 40 overs but it proved too small for PCC as they chased down the target in 28.5 overs courtesy an unbeaten 135-run second wicket partnership.
Ningthoujam Rohit (28 not out), Laimayum Prasantajit (27), Raj Kumar Surchand (19) and Kharaijam Sagarjit (19) were main run contributors for the Khuyathong side today.

Rohit Soubam (3/19 in 8 overs) and Thoudam Monet (3/15 in 8 overs) shone in this innings claiming three wickets each and throttle the run rate completely after opening pair of RK Surchand and Kharaijam Sagarjit forged a 50-run partnership and the team never recovered after their partnership was broken in 13.2 overs with Monet removing Sagarjit.
In reply, PCC lost Charoibam Tyson to L Prasantajit Sharma for 8 at 24 in 2.5 overs but Rohit Soubam (87-ball 66, 8 fours) and Thokchom Anand (76-ball 62, 8 fours) took command of the chase to see their team to victory in 28.5 overs with 9 wickets left to spare.
Rohit Soubam who scored an unbeaten 66 off 87 balls and picked three wickets was adjudged man of the match.
Meanwhile at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak, FORCE-Kshetrigao rode on half centuries from Khushru Pravez and Saddam Ahmed Shah and Arshad Ali's four wicket haul to seal a 29-run victory over YWC-Langthabal.
FORCE were toss winners today and stacked up a competitive total of 223 runs for 8 wickets in 35 overs after opting to bat first.
After they were reduced to 23 for 2in in 5.2 overs, Khushru Pravez (71 off 46 ball, 2 fours and 9 sixes) and Saddam Ahmed Shah (61 off 57 balls, 8 fours and 2 sixes) combined well to collect 118 runs for the third wicket in 15 overs to resurrect the innings.
Tashib Alam was unbeaten on 30 in 25 balls as FORCE finished the innings at 223 for 8 .
Maibam Subash (2/43 in 6 overs), Heisnam Manikanta (2/36 in 7 overs) and Yenshenbam Vivek (2/35 in 7 overs) of YWC-L enjoyed two-wickets each in this innings as Seram Robinson and Ngangbam Bikramjit picked up a wicket each.
In the chase, Arshad Ali Shah (4/38 in 7 overs) and Tashib Alam (3/23 in 6.3 overs) wreaked havoc across the YWC-L batting line to skittle them out for 194 runs in 34.3 overs.
Jiko Sorokhaibam added the highest 47 for the team followed by Ngangbam Bingson (44), Ngangbam Bishwash (21) and Soubam Robinson (21 not out) .
Mushir Alam of FORCE also fetched two wickets in this innings as Md Islauddin managed a wicket.
Arshad Ali of FORCE eventually claimed the man of the match accolade.
