Need for promoting 'Health for All' raised

World Health Day was observed today under the theme 'Health for All' to promote health well-being for all.
Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch observed World Health Day at the State office located at MG Avenue.
The programme was graced by Hiyanglam Assembly Constituency MLA Dr Y Radheshyam as the chief guest; Dr Y Mohen Singh as the president while Dr RK Nimai Singh and Dr RK Lenin as the guest of honour and special invitee respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, the dignitaries urged all to take care of their health and deliberated on the various aspects necessary to maintain overall health hygiene especially by the youths and students.
Students of Biramangol College, GP Women's College, Thamcha Nursing Institute, Johnstone Higher Secondary School, Ibotonsana Higher Secondary School and TG Higher Secondary School among others attended the programme.

Leading technology-led oncology platform Karkinos Manipur Cancer Institute and Research Centre organized health awareness activities for the patients at the Hospital to observe World Health Day.
During the health awareness programme, the importance of good health, regular health check-ups and fitness to fight different types of diseases were highlighted, said a press release by the Centre.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr GS Moirangthem, Director-CEO, Karkinos Manipur Cancer Institute and Research Centre said, "Every individual whether young or old, rich or poor has got the right to remain healthy.
To achieve 'Health for All', one should not depend only on the Government Machineries.
Everyone of us shall follow the laws of nature such as early to bed, early to rise, regular exercise, regular intake of fruits, avoidance of too much alcohol, meat and oily diets, etc" .
He also stressed on the importance of identifying early signs and symptoms of cancer and consulting the specialists concerned immediately.
He maintained that the Government should take up concrete steps to close the "Care Gap".
All Health Care Providers whether Government or Corporates shall see that the treatment provided is accessible and affordable to common people, he added.
It may be noted that Karkinos Manipur Cancer Institute and Research Centre conducts regular cancer awareness programmes to sensitize the people of the State focusing on early detection and treatment of cancer.
Karkinos Manipur Cancer Institute and Research Centre in Imphal is a comprehensive cancer hospital with all facilities under one roof like radiation oncology, medical oncology and surgical oncology.
World Health Day was observed today at Pourabi Community Hall organised by Pourabi Rising Star Club.
A free medical camp was also organised in connection with the observation sponsored by Dr Kshetrimayum Kala Singh, Medical Cell Convenor, BJP Manipur Pradesh.
In today's medical camp, free tests of blood sugar, thyroid function, ECG, nerve test, blood group test, urine test etc were conducted free of cost.
Around 150 individuals were examined in the camp which was attended by doctors, nurses, medical representatives, paramedical staff, ASHA workers and so on.
As a part of today's programme, Dr Ksh Kala also presented shawls to 20 elderly persons.
