Imphal, April 18 2022:
PTRC, Patsoi registered a huge 104 run victory against Model Club, Chingamakha in the opening match (Group A) of the 6th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament here at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam today.
Put in to bat first, PTRC showcased dominance in both batting and bowling departments as they stacked up 196 for 6 in allotted 35 overs courtesy half centuries from Khangembam Santosh (62) and Loitongbam shitaljit (72) and successfully bowled out Model Club to 92 within 25.2 overs for the emphatic win as Jotin Pheiroijam and Chingakham Bidash wreaked havoc with the brilliant bowling efforts.
Model Club found the breakthrough early in the 4th delivery of the first over with Somorjit Salam removing Gemson Mutum on 3-ball duck but the second wicket stand between Khangembam Santosh and Loitongbam Shitaljit proved deadly.

The duo forged a significant 133 run partnership off 168 balls by rotating strikes to wear down the Model Club bowlers before Santosh was dismissed for 74 -ball 62 for the second wicket by Waikhom Priyokumar in the 29th over.
L Shitaljit had to see his partner Ngariyanbam Johnson depart for 1 the next over to W Somorjit before Thangjam Rishi undone him for 72 to reduce PTRC to 164 for 4 .
Jotin Pheiroijam (19 not out) then took charge of the strike but had to see his partners Somorjit Salam (10) and Ngariyanbam Jameson (7) depart cheaply in the last two overs.
Somorjit Salam (2/36) and Thangjam Rishi (2/43) were able to clinch two wickets each in the innings as Waikhom Priyokumar and Wahengbam Somorjit picked up one wicket apiece.
Chasing 197 for the win, Model Club had a terrible experience starting the innings on a sluggish note before wickets kept falling in regular intervals as medium pace duo of Jotin Pheiroijam (3/6 in 5 overs which contained one maiden) and Chingakham Bidash (3/13 in 3 overs) ran through the line up on the way to their three-wicket hauls.
Having lost both the openers, Yumnam Karnajit (2) and Kisan Singh Wahengbam (5) to Jotin, Thoudam Deepak tried his best to steady the chase but ended up gathering 42 off 41 balls before Model Club got bundled out for 92 .
Ngariyanbam Johnson of PTRC too bowled well to scalp twice and close out the innings while Khangembam Santosh and Sapam Kenjit managed a wicket each.
Khangembam Santosh who hit a half century and picked a wicket off 4 overs was adjudged man of the match.
Blue Hawk, Khurai will play Al-ameen, Lilong in the Group B opener tomorrow at the same venue.
