Vijay Hazare Trophy : Manipur go down to Tripura despite Langlonyamba's unbeaten half century

Manipur suffered second successive defeat in the Vijay Hazare Trophy plate group campaign going down by 86 runs against Tripura today at Soul Feel Cricket Stadium, Jaipur.
This was despite an unbeaten half century knock by Langlonyamba Meitankeisa-ngbam after Manipur won the toss and chose to field first.
Tripura stood dominant in their innings as BB Ghosh hit an unbeaten ton (119 off 139 deliveries) and Pawan KB assisted with another unbeaten half century (80 off 66 balls) to help their team post a total of 273 runs for 2 .
Samit Gohil too made a significant contribution of 46 runs off 73 balls to Tripura's tally.
Even as State bowlers could not cause enough trouble today, Homendro and Thomas M chipped in with a wicket apiece.
In the chase, Manipur could muster 187 runs for the loss of 5 wickets even as Langlonyamba (78 off 100 balls) and Johnson anchored well and remained not out after opening batters had short outings.
