State reports 25 new Covid cases

Imphal, December 09 2021:
The State reported 25 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours with no report of Covid related deaths for three days in a row.
The test positivity rate (TPR) recorded on Thursday was 1.7 percent as 25 new Covid positive cases were detected at RIMS(3), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (21) out of 1460 samples tested during the last 24 hours.
Imphal West had the highest TPR of 4 percent with 19 positive cases detected out of 480 samples it is followed by Kakching which recorded 2.2 percent with one positive case out of 46 cases; Thoubal had 1.7 percent with 2 positive cases out of 116 samples while Churachandpur and Bishnupur had one new positive case each with a TPR of 1.5 percent and 1.2 percent respectively.
With this the cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,454 (general population-1,21,021 and Central Security Personnel-4,433) Meanwhile, the recovery rate in the State stands at 98.15 percent with a total active cases of 339 while 11 persons have recovered and were discharged from home isolation (1), RIMS (1), JNIMS (1) and CCCs (8) .
The cumulative doses of COVID-19 vaccine that have been administered till yesterday is 22,14,025 which includes 12,95,955 1st doses and 9,180,70 2nd doses.
Till December 8, 65.84 percent of the total population had been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 46.64 percent with the second dose.
