Haomee condemns Oting Massacre, demands removal of AFSPA

The Federation of Haomee has condemned the Oting Massacre and asked whether the Government is going to punish the army personnel involved in the incident or will they be rewarded.
In a statement issued today, Haomee vice president Dr K Heera Kabui said this incident is the not the first nor it will be the last such incidents of innocent civilians being targeted by security forces under the ambit of the Armed Forces Special Power Acts-1958.Haomee reminded similar incidents that took placed in the State including Heirangoithong massacre of 1984; Thangal Oinam Village incident of 1987; Tera Keithel incident of 1993; the RIMS incident of 1996; Sugnu Massacre of 1999; 2000 Malom incident and brutal murder of Manorama in 2004 and said nobody who where involved in all such incidents have been punished by the Government.
Haomee demanded the removal of AFSPA from the North East.
