1st MNCA Super Plate : KCC thump Muvanlai for second win, RCA beat YUCC by 16 runs

KCC, Kongba Bazar notched up a 5 wicket victory over Muvanlai, New Lambulane at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium for two of two Group A victory in the ongoing 1st MNCA Super Plate Tournament.
Muvanlai who won the toss and opted to bat first produced a dismal performance as wickets kept tumbling down before the last wicket stand between Khaikhotinlal and Mahendran Bala Chandran stood firm to gather 141 in the allotted 40 overs.
Muvanlai were reduced to 45/4 within 14.3 overs with Thangtingou Sitlhou (10), Shibadatta (1), Haolengou (13) and Avinash Asmali (1) going out cheaply.
They further slipped to 77/6 after losing Md Aslam on 10 and L Thangsuanlian on 6 .
Khaikhotinlal Haokip who came out for the third wicket stand emerged the highest run getter finishing with an unbeaten 48 as his partners kept losing in regular intervals.

Siehboi Vaiphei registered the second highest score of 14 runs for the team in this innings which saw medium pacer Sandeep Kumar (2/22 in 6 overs) and right arm fast bowler Hijam boba (2/19 in 5 overs) of the Kongba side snatching two wickets each.
Loktongbam Ozzy, Kongbrailatpam Sanjit Sharma, Rohen Singh, Ningombam Tony Singh and Chumthao Dk also claim a wicket each to give the Muvanlai team a torrid time.
In reply, KCC lost opener Rohen Singh on 4 but Keisham Mranojit struck 51 off 67 balls, Nongmaithem Dijaraj scored 34 off 52 balls and Nameirakpam Arbin added 23 off 18 balls to steer KCC to winning 143 for 5 within 29.1 overs for the second win having beaten PSC in their first group encounter.
Keisham Mranojit Singh of KCC who hit a half century was adjudged man of the match.
KCC will play YWC-Langthabal at Langthabal Public Ground on March 11 .
Elsewhere at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, Khamnam Bazar, RCA, Lilong opened up their Group B campaign with a 16 run victory over YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai.
RCA after opting to bat first bundled out for 174 runs in 36.5 overs as Khundrakpam Punshiba Mangang and Kadamjit Moirangthem of YUCC ran riot with their fierce bowling performances but managed to bowl out YUCC for just 158 runs in 35.1 overs.
RCA were 27/1 when Ningthoujam Sanjit removed opener Wm Rajak on 12 but Syed Hussain 53 and Imran Khan 28 steadied the innings for a while.
With Syed Hussain's departure, RCA failed to sustain the pressure and slumped to 174 all out.
Khundrakpam Punshiba Mangang was the pick of the YUCC bowlers returning with the best bowling figures of 4/19 in 8 overs which contained a maiden over while Kadamjit Moirangthem picked 3 wickets for 34 runs in 8 overs.
Ningthoujam Rahulkumar and Devraj Nongthombam also managed a wicket each in this innings.
YUCC batters however failed horribly in the chase and wrapped up the innings at 158 all out in 35.1 overs as RCA bowlers made a concerted effort to inhibit them from hitting their strides.
RCA's Naesh Hussain and Wm Rajak managed two wickets each as Aziz Mirza, Bm Sabakhan, Md Iliyas and Afjal Khan picked up a wicket apiece to set up the 16 runs victory.
