Lok Adalat 2021: 1269 cases taken up, 913 disposed

Imphal, March 07 2022:
A total of 1269 cases were taken up during the Lok Adalat held in year 2021 out of which 913 cases amounting to Rs 8,33,16,469 were settled.
The rate of case disposal was 71 per cent.
According to a statement issued by Manipur State Legal Services Authority, Lok Adalat were held on four occasion spanning several months.
1031 pre-litigation cases were taken up out of which 813 cases were settled amounting to Rs 4,56,95,453 with the case settlement rate recorded at 78 per cent.
The total number pending cases taken up was 238 out of which 100 were disposed with a total amount of Rs 3,76,21,016 .
The rate of case disposal stood at 42 per cent.
In the National Lok Adalat 2022 which will be held on March 12, 2150 pre litigation cases and 259 pending cases will be examined.
Out of the total, there are 1340 pre litigation bank cases, 799 pre litigation BSNL cases, 11 pre litigation clinic cases/ others, 17 pending criminal cases, 204 pending civil cases, 12 pending matrimonial cases and 26 pending MACT cases, the statement added.
