Sewing machine, gym items provided

Imphal, March 07 2022:
As part of Assam Rifles' Civic Action Programme (CAP), Khuga Battalion of IGAR (South) distributed sewing machines to the villagers of H Khunou in Churachandpur district on Monday to commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (75 Years of Independence) epitomising the spirit of Suraksha ka Manviye Chehra.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the locals had shared with the Assam Rifles, their concerns and problems faced by them, and it was felt that creating an alternate source of income would go a long way into alleviating few of them.
Distribution of sewing machine to the needy villagers was considered to be a viable solution which would assist them in creating self-employment and an alternate source of income.
The villagers expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards Assam Rifles and acknowledged that the Indian Security farces are the true friends of the NE people, it added.
Meanwhile, Mantripukhri Battalion of IGAR (South) distributed gym equipment at Wairi village in Imphal East district under Assam Rifles' Civic Action Programme on Monday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that Assam Rifles through its various schemes provides welfare and basic necessities to the local population and also strengthens the faith of the people in government and security forces.
