New cases drop to single digit, TPR below 1 pc

Daily new cases dropped to single digit on Monday with government bulletins reporting only 5 positive cases of Covid-19 Out of 930 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering a positivity rate of 0.54 per cent against 1.06 per cent recorded on Sunday.
The state is also witnessing the lowest daily new cases since April 6 last year which recorded 7 cases with 0.62 per cent positivity rate.
On April 5, government bulletins reported 0.48 per cent positivity rate.
It may be mentioned that the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic began from April last year.
No new death case was reported on Monday and the toll stands at 2115 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 192 vaccinated persons of which 61 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 26 patients were discharged from home isolation (22), RIMS (1), JNIMS (1) and CCCs (23) .
However, 108 already discharged cases were reported only on Monday and as such the total number of discharged cases in the last 24 hours has been calculated as 134 .
The active cases came down to 119 out of which 68 (57.14 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 283 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 118 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
So far, the state has recorded 11,115 positive cases and 113 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 120 new positive cases and 3 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 120 and 4 respectively.
According to official reports , all the 5 fresh cases (2 male & 3 female) were from among the general population whose samples were confirmed at other testing centres (5).The positive cases are from Imphal East (1), Kakching (2), Bishnupur (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,903 (general population - 1,31,890 and CAPF personnel - 5,013).Number of recovered cases is 1,34,669 (general population - 1,29,671 and CAPF personnel - 4,998) and number of active cases is 119 (general population - 111 and CAPF personnel - 8).The recovery rate is 98.37 per cent.
A total of 252.D-type and 76 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while only 227 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 15,16,809, out of which 11,51,307 had received second doses and 61,198 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,647), Imphal East (30,398), Thoubal (10,129), Churachandpur (11,039), Kangpokpi (3125), Tamenglong (3468), Bishnupur (9813), Senapati (2481), Ukhrul (3261), Kakching (6876), Chandel (2705), Noney (1156), Tengnoupal (1196), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1034) and Pherzawl (465).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (703), Imphal East (510), Thoubal (188), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (5o), Kakching (122), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,120 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,631 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,09,698 tests per million population against the national average of 5,51,385 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 930 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 0.54 per cent while the cumulative rate stands at 8.66 per cent.
