MSL: NEROCA FC emerge league leader; knockout rounds from Nov 1

Registering an easy 4-1 win against TRAU, Kwakeithel today NEROCA FC, Sangakpham emerged the undisputed league leader of the ongoing 10th Manipur State League organised by AMFA under the sponsorship of Khumukcham Ingocha Singh Memorial Trust.
The last day of the league round of the tournament ended today with three matches.
NEROCA FC downed TRAU by a margin of four goals to one in the first match today at Mapal Kangjeibung at 8.30 am.
NEROCA FC rode on three goals scored by its Nigerian striker Offor Emeka Christian.
Emeka scored in the 6th, 34th and 59th minute.
Y Randhan Meitei added another goal for NEROCA FC in the 57th minute.
The lone goal for TRAU was scored by M John in the 68th minute through a pass from N Momocha.
With today's win, NEROCA FC emerged the unbeaten league leader of the tournament.
Out of the 11 matches played, NEROCA FC won nine matches and while two ended in draws taking the team's league point to 29 .
TRAU stood at the eight position out of 12 teams competing in the tournament.
In the second match today, NACO, Nambul Mapal blanked SSU, Singjamei 2-0.Md Amir Khan opened the account for NACO in the 34th minute.
After the breather, Th Ngouba converted a penalty in the 59th minute thus sealing the victory of NACO.
Although it suffered a defeat at the hand of NACO today, SSU, placed 6th in the final league point table, are one point ahead of NACO.
In the third match today, which is also the last league match of the tournament, TRUGPU, Nambol and YPHU, Lalambung played a 1-1 draw.
With the draw today, YPHU are ranked 5th in the league point table while TRUGPU are placed 9th in the final table.
TRUGPU's goal was scored by Th Shankar as early as the 6th minute.
YPHU found the equaliser in the 88th minute when Y Kamando converted a free kick.
AIM, Khabam Lamkhai are ranked 2nd in the final league table while NISA, Thangmeiband and FC Zalen, Sadar Hills are placed 3rd and 4th respectively.
The knockout round of the tournament will begin from Nov 1 at Mapal Kangjeibung with four matches on the day.
TRUGPU, Nambol will play MPSC in the opening match of the knockout round at 8 am on Nov 1 .
The second match will be played between Zomi FC, Churachandpur and USA, Khurai at 10 am while 3rd rank NISA, Thangmeiband will face 2nd rank AIM, Khabam Lamkhai at 12.15 pm.
In the fourth match of the day, 4th rank holder of the league round, FC Zalen, Sadar Hills will face league leader NEROCA FC at 2 pm.
