A public meeting held at Jiribam Town hall today has resolved to impose a 28 hour total Jiribam bandh from 8 pm of November 2 to midnight of November 3 as a step to strengthen the committee's demand to upgrade Jiribam to a revenue district, JNN reports.
The public meeting held under the aegis of Jiribam District Demand Committee (JDDC), was chaired by JDDC chairperson H Mema Devi, former AJUCA president K Khumanjao and former pradhan Foiz Ahmed.
Former MLA A Biren, who attended the public meeting today extended full support to JDDC's demand stating that the State BJP desires to see Jiribam elevated to a full fledged district.
The public meeting while resolving to beef up JDCC's demand for full revenue district has called a 28 hour total Jiribam bandh from November 2 to 3 .
It further resolved to register local clubs at Jiribam under JDDC.
