Imphal, October 30 2015 :
One LPG consumer from Yaiskul has been denied subsidized LPG for several months since he applied for re-registering an existing LPG connection against his name.
"We had LPG connection in Porompat Gas Service in the name of our grandfather and we were enjoying subsidized LPG from this connection for a long period.
At the time of submission of bank account and other documents for DBTL scheme, I applied to re-register the LPG connection against my name", said the aggrieved consumer.
"My late grandfather's name was Hijam Ibocha and the consumer number of his LPG connection was 1518.Along with the application to re-register the LPG connection against my name, death certificate of my grandfather was also submitted to the Porompat Gas Service", he conveyed.
After submission of the death certificate, he was told that there would be no problem in re-registering the LPG connection against his name.
An application form for re-registering the LPG connection against my name was submitted in March this year and its (form) serial number was 1503 .
Although it was told at the time of form submission that the process of re-registering the LPG connection against a new name would be completed very soon, the same process remains incomplete till date Even as Porompat Gas Service has been approached repeatedly regarding the matter, they have not been paying any heed to complaints citing all kinds of excuses like shortage of staff, absence of manager etc.
The consumer went to the LPG distributor yesterday too and he was told that all the consumers of Porompat Gas Service have been transferred to another distributor located at Lamlong after the office of Porompat Gas Service was ravaged by fire.
Presently verification process of all consumers is undergoing and the work of re-registering existing connections against new names would be taken up after the verification work is over, conveyed the consumer recalling what was said by the LPG distributor.
This is apart from the earlier report that even though a consumer is entitled to 12 refills in a year, this is a far cry in Manipur.
