State boxer Sarjubala feted

Imphal, November 26 2014:
State boxer Sarjubala Samjetsabam who clinched a silver medal in the 8th Women's World Boxing Championships at Jesu, South Korea was felicitated today during a function organised by Nongpok Gym Lourembam (NGL), Thoubal at NGL Ground Nongpok Lourembam, Thoubal district.
The reception function was attended by Manipur People Party (MPP) president N Sobhakiran, SDPO of Yairipok S Hemanta Singh and AIBA Vice-President Khoibi Salam as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

Speaking on the occasion Sarjubala Samjetsabam gave all credits of her success to her parents and coaches who helped her in winning such prestigious medal.
Expressing regret for failing to achieve gold medal in the championship, Sarjubala said that she did not have much time for preparation.
She however believes to win a gold medal in the upcoming World Womens Boxing Championship, 2016 .
The president of the function S Hemanta Singh gave Rs 5,000 (five thousand) to Sarjubala as an encouragement.
Meanwhile, the Semgat Marup Wangkhei Pukhrambam Leirak also organised a felicitation cum reception programme of Sarjubala Samjetsabam at Wangkhei.
Sarjubala Samjetsabam is the daughter of Sh Rajen and Sh Thoibi Devi.
