Imphal, November 26 2014:
The Tangkhul Katamnao Long Imphal (TKLI) has alleged reservation anomaly in the ongoing recruitment of some posts under the Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission.
Addressing a press meet at its office located at Nagaram, TKLI vice-president Akhai Lh said that out of the total 37 vacant seats, 28 seats are unreserved while seven and two seats are reserved for ST and OBC respectively.
As per the 200 point roster, 37 percent of seats should be reserved for the STs in job recruitment.
If this norm is to be followed, the reserved seats for ST in recruitment in the Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission would be 13 or 14, Akhai asserted.
The TKLI strongly denounced the alleged violation of the reservation norm.
Urging the authority concerned to rectify the alleged anomaly in reservation before the last date of application form submission (Dec 10), Akhai said that the students' union in collaboration with other tribal bodies including ATSUM would launch series of agitation like boycotting the recruitment process if the demand is not met.
