Minister Mirabai acknowledges role of clubs

Imphal, November 26 2014:
A newly constructed shed of Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai Development Club, Imphal West was inaugurated by Minister of Social Welfare & Cooperation, AK Mirabai today.
Speaking at the inauguration function, Minister Mirabai noted that contribution of people in developing their localities and villages is much necessary, while calling upon the people especially youths to follow footsteps of senior leaders to maintain peace and tranquility in the society.
The Minister maintained that clubs in localities have been shouldering responsibility to guide youths in right direction apart from taking up measures meant for bringing in development in their respective areas.
Saying that clubs have been also organizing sports, essay & drawing competition from time to time with the goal to encourage youths, she referred founders of Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai Development Club as people who see future in their eyes.
With the advancement of science, there has been cut-throat competition in every filed.
People willing to take part in various competitions should be well-prepared to match its level.
In the State of Manipur also, even appointment of ASO is conducted by MPSC with the objective to appoint qualified candidates, the Minister asserted.
As part of the programme, several sports players of the locality who have received National Award and those who have garnered accolades in the field of art & culture were honored by presenting simple gifts.
The inauguration function was also attended by RK Sharat Singh, president of Kwakeithel Thounajam Leikai Development Club as president; RK Imo, MLA Sagolband Constituency; Ch Bijoy, social activist; A Bishorjit, Pradhan of Sapam Leikai Gram Panchayat and Salam Maipak Singh, Managing Director of Imphal Hospital & Research Centre as guests of honor.
