Imphal, November 26 2014:
Located around 15 kms away from Imphal valley, Koutruk village has been hoping for the last 40 years for the State Government to repair the road which connects the area with the rest of the State.
Speaking exclusively to The Sangai Express, Raghumani of Koutruk village said, "We have been facing many difficulties due to the deplorable road condition.
Villagers are deprived of immediate medical assistance.
There has been an instance where an expecting mother could not make it to the hospital due to the deplorable road condition and had to deliver a child on the way.
Despite repeated appeals to the MLA concerned, there has been no sign of positive response" .

It may be mentioned that though Koutruk village has no shortage of electricity and water, the village has no Primary Health Centre.
The nearest PHC is located at Khurkhul.
Villagers rely either on RDO located at Lamshang Bazar or RIMS to get proper medical treatment.
Koutruk also has one Primary school.
However, due to lack of maintenance and other problems, village children attend classes at Mayang Langjing High School which is about 7 km far and at Sardar Patel Government High School at Khurkhul.
The village is populated by around 500 people.
Agriculture is the main occupation of the villagers and access to better source of employment is also being curtailed due to lack of accessibility.
Koutruk road connects places like Saprou, Kangchup area, Singda, Phumlou.
