World Boxing silver medalist Sarjubala accorded with warm welcome

Imphal, November 26 2014:
Silver medalist of the recently concluded 8th Women's World Boxing Championship held in Jeju, South Korean, Shamjetsabam Sarjubala was given a rousing welcome by a large crowd and many sports personalities at the Imphal International Airport today.
As soon as she touched down at the Imphal Airport, prestigious Arjuna Awardee, Boxing Coach L Ibomcha, members of the Manipur Amateur Boxing Association, players of SAI and her locals greeted her.
After that, people travelled her in a decorated vehicle around the Imphal city.
In the 48kg category of the World Boxing Championship Sarjubala had entered the final by defeating Thailand's Chuthamat Raksat.

Sarjubala said that she felt anxious and frightened during the championship as it was her first World Championship after winning gold in the World Youth Boxing.
She played all the bouts with a determination that was the reason why she entered the final round, she revealed.
She expressed upset over not winning gold but she said, "I'll do my best to win gold medal from the upcoming championships" .
Sarjubala was born in the month of March in 1993 as the second daughter of Shamjetshabam Rajan and Thoibi of Yairipok Lampak Lourembam in Heirok constituency.
Now, her family had shifted to Wangkhei Pukhrambam Leirak Machin in 2002 .
