MNCA Elite Tournament : Fifties from Karnajit, Kisan guide MODEL to 8 wicket win over FORCE

Yumnam Karnajit and Kisan Singh Wahengbam hit half centuries to hand MODEL, Chingamakha an 8 wicket win over FORCE, Kshetrigao in the ongoing 6th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament here at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam.
Saddam Ahamed Shah's fifty for FORCE went in vain as MODEL, who beat REYS for the first win in the previous Group A outing, chased down a target of 162 runs within 25 overs to notch up their second in four matches.

Having won the toss, and opted to bat first, FORCE started cautiously and with Saddam and Md Alfash forging a 46 run first wicket partnership before Alfash was run out for 6 runs in the 5th delivery of the 15th over.
Saddam went on to impress with his bat but MODEL fast bowler Naorem Dibak undone him for a 51-ball 56 (4x4, 3x6) for the second wicket in the 3rd delivery of the 19th over as the scoreboard read 72 .
Arshad Ali (23), Khusru Pravez (20), Waseem (13) and Pravesh (14) then tried to give FORCE some reprieve but they failed to change the course of the innings as MODEL bowlers gained more ground with Dibak Naorem (3/39) leading the attack.
Eventually, FORCE were restricted to 161 for 8 in the allotted 30 overs (truncated) .
Chasing 162 for the win, MODEL got off to a bright start as Yumnam Karnajit toyed around the Kshetrigao side bowlers with a variety of shots with able assistance from Thoudam Deepak.
After cloberring 7 fours and 2 sixes, Yumnam Karnajit departed for a 48-ball 65 in the 15th over to Mushir Alam with scoreboard reading 97 .
Thoudam Deepak added 33 runs off 53 balls as he went out for the second wicket to Jb Prakash before Kisan Singh blasted off an unbeaten 54 runs off 46 deliveries to steer MODEL to winning 162 with 8 wickets left in the hand.
Wahengbam Kisan Singh who scored an unbeaten 54 off 46 balls was adjudged man of the match.
SCCC, Singjamei will play Blue Hawak in the next match tomorrow.
