JAC formed in connection with W Premjit's suspicious death

A JAC has been formed in connection with the death of Warepam Premjit (23) whose mortal remains were recovered on the morning of June 13 along the roadside of Imphal-Moreh road at Sora-Lousi Pat area under Kakching police station.
It may be noted that Warepam Premjit is the son of Abhiram from Papal Mayai Leikai in Thoubal district.
The JAC, which has been christened "JAC against the brutal killing of Warepam Premjit Singh", has also submitted written letters appealing for justice and appropriate legal action against the responsible persons to the Chief Minister and Paonam Brojen, MLA Wangjing Tentha AC.
The JAC has also urged the Government to apprehend the responsible party by June 15, failing which, a series of agitations will be launched with the support of local meira paibis and CSOs.
A large number of women from Papal Mayai Leikai also blocked the Imphal-Moreh road for a few hours in protest against alleged killing of W Premjit today.
Speaking to media persons, N Tiken, convenor, JAC has shared that the JAC has resolved to not accept the mortal remains of W Premjit until the perprepators have been caught.
He also urged the authorities concerned to provide compensation to the deceased's wife and their
8 month old son.
