CM presents cash reward to Kpi police

Chief Minister N Biren Singh handed over a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh to Superintendent of Police, Kangpokpi Amrita Sinha for seizing large consignment of drugs by a team of Kangpokpi police team on May 9 and June 10, 2022 .
Speaking to the media at the Chief Minister's Secretariat, N Biren stated that the reward was given in appreciation of their dedication and commitment to uprooting drug menace from the State.
He continued that the district police also took a crucial role in destroying poppy cultivation across the district and mentioned that the Government would continue to reward police personnel who perform their duties sincerely.
Director General of Police P Doungel stated that the seizure of large quantities of drugs on May 9 and June 10, 2022 had boosted the morale of the police force as well as the War on Drugs campaign.
He congratulated the Kangpokpi police under the leadership of SP Amrita Sinha for carrying out such a 'good work' and giving strength to the meaning of War on Drugs and wished for more success in future.
It may be mentioned that a police team of Kangpokpi led by SI Hemjamang Khongsai and SI Raju Singh under the instruction of Officer in Charge of Kangpokpi police station and overall supervision of SP Amrita Sinha, ASP (L/O) Tholu Rocky, ASP (Ops) Abul Kalam, DSP (GSPM) Sheimang Khongsai seized 212 soap cases containing suspected heroin weighing 2.131 Kg approximately valued about Rs 31 crore in the international market on May 9 .
In another incident, Kangpokpi police seized another 181 soap cases containing heroin valued at around Rs.27 crore in the international market on June 10 last.
Other senior police officials also attended the function.
