BJP Govt committed to resolving Naga issue: Dipu Gangmei

Hill Areas Committee (HAC) chairman Dipu Gangmei has said that the present BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to resolving the decades-old Naga political issue at the earliest.
PM Narendra Modi is genuinely concerned about bring ing an honourable solution to the Naga political issue and chief minister Biren Singh is very supportive of the same, Dipu Gangmei stated while addressing a gathering at 'Gareeb Kalyan Samelaan' organised by BJP Ukhrul district at Ukhrul town hall on Tuesday.
BJP is the party that has truly recognised the unique history and culture of the Nagas and BJP government under the able leadership of Modi signed the historic Framework Agreement towards resolving the Indo-Naga issue, he said and urged all the saffron party leaders and workers in the district to work collectively to bring a logical settlement to the Naga political issue.
About the forthcoming ADC and Lok Sahba elections in the state, the HAC chairman exhorted the party workers to work whole heartedly and ensure success of the party in the polls.
BJP ex-MLA and former TNL president Hopingson Shimray and former deputy speaker of Manipur legislative assembly MK Preshow Shimray also attended the event.
In his speech, MK Preshow said that the BJP government initiated numerous developmental works and launched a series of schemes especially for the poor section of the country.
He also said that BJP stands firmly to enable the citizens of India to work hard and live a dignified life.
Commenting on the state government's 'War against Drugs' campaign, Preshow said that the government initiated the campaign to root out the menace of drugs from the state and people must join hands together and move forward unitedly to make this happen.
Tangkhul popular singer Horyaola Kashung enthralled the gathering with her beautiful performance during the event, which was also attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh vice president Chidananda, BJP Ukhrul district vice president Wungtam Zimik, BJP Ukhrul district general secretary (Org) Peacemoon Zimik, and leaders and workers of BJP Ukhrul and Kamjong districts.
