Thokchom Bungo, who has played about 40 international matches in his career so far, has observed that watching the matches of World Cup live will give us a new taste of Football.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao, Bungo said that people all the over the World has been gearing up to watch the biggest Football tournament which is scheduled to begin from tomorrow in Brazil.
Altogether, 32 different countries from various places of the World are likely to participate in the tournament.
Watching the matches live will enhance in accumulating knowledge of right and wrong particularly among the youngsters.
Just as previous World Cups have enticed many youngsters to become popular Footballers, youngsters should feel the same feeling this time too.
Anybody who wants to become a football player should watch many matches as many as they can.
This way one can learnt skills of famed players, Bungo said.
He went on to say that in this World Cup, we will surely witness new playing tactics from internationally known players.
We should also try to understand the co-ordination having between players and coaches of different countries.
Bungo participated in the U-19 AFC Challenge Cup, Doha Asian Games, Nehru Cup and World Cup qualifying matches and also played a major role in LG Santosh Trophy held at Imphal.
Bungo started his career with ESU Wankhei.
After playing for ESU, he went on to join various popular football clubs of India like AIR India, Mohun Bagan, Salgaonkar, Mohammandan Sporting, Churchill Brothers, Mumbai FC, Pune FC etc.
Bungo said Lionel Messi of Argentina is his most favourite player and as a true fan of Brazil, he said that Brazil will emerge winner of World Cup this time.
Bungo also prayed and wished the Korea team to perform better during the tournament.
Watching the live matches together on big screen will be more convenient.
But the present conditions of electricity in the state is one thing that would come in between enjoying these matches, Bungo maintained, while appealing to the government to ensure power supply uninterruptedly in the state to avoid such interference during watching of the FIFA World Cup matches.
