REDM celebrates Foundation Day

Imphal, June 11 2014:
Reformation for Economy and Development Manipur (REDM) celebrated its 1st Foundation Day at Hotel Imphal today.
Times of India Imphal Correspondent K Sarojkumar Sharma and REDM Chairperson Ningombam Aruna graced the function as chief guest and president respectively.
K Sarojkumar while speaking at the function appreciated REDM for putting in effort to enhance the economy of the State through micro financing.
It is laudable to extend help to people who do not have enough capital to start their business,
he added.
Recalling the works of Nobel Peace Prize winner Md Yusuf of Bangladesh, Sarojkumar said that the prestigious award was conferred on Yusuf in recognition to his works in the field of micro financing.
Saying that peace and tranquillity prevail when a State or country's economy is sound, Sarojkumar said that micro financing would be helpful in bringing peace in the State as well.
N Aruna in her presidential speech thanked those who have extended support to REDM.
In his keynote address, REDM secretary Ningombam Brajamani said that his organisation was not established with the sole objective to earn profit but to promote the sense of togetherness.
REDM has now 600 loanees during the short span of one year of its establishment.
Dedicated staff of REDM were also honoured at the function.
