Four-time world champion Mary Kom has called for the inclusion of women's boxing in the Olympic Games.
The Indian said she was hopeful that the IOC at its executive board meeting scheduled August 13 would take the decision in favour of the sport.
"Boxing is my career and my life.
I am just hopeful that the IOC gives us female boxers the perfect answer," Mary Kom was quoted as saying in International Boxing Association (AIBA) website on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old from Manipur continues to follow her dream and aim for the ultimate glory, competing in the Olympic Games.
Kom has competed in all five AIBA Women's World Championships since its debut in 2001.She has been world's most successful women boxer, claiming four gold and one silver medals.

Akhil bats for Mary Kom (Bhopal): Olympian boxer Akhil Kumar feels four-time world champion female counterpart MC Mary Kom deserves to be given the Rajiv Gandhi Kel Ratna Award.
"When captain of the Indian Twenty20 team (MS Dhoni) can be given this award why should May Kom be overlooked," Akhil said.
He also said that Indian coaches were much better than foreign coaches.
