The chairman of the People United Liberation Front, PULF (Azad) faction nabbed by a team of Manipur police in joint operation with Karnataka police from Bangalore city on Monday last has been remanded in police custody for 10 days.
The chairman was produced before the chief judicial magistrate, Imphal today by the police in connection with a case registered with Porompat police station with a prayer to remand further for interrogation.
CJM remanded him till July 18 in the police custody.
Roshan Ali who is wanted by Manipur police for several crimes, including murder and attempt to murder was staying in Bangalore since the around 16 months and reportedly working as a security guard for an MNC here.
He was produced before a Metropolitan Magistrate in Bangalore and remanded in police custody for four days.
He has been brought to Imphal by air today by the state police after obtaining a transit custody from the magistrate and taken into custody by the Porompat police station of Imphal east district in connection with a pending case against him registered last year under FIR no 127 (6) 2009 under section 307/427/400 of IPC and 3 explosive substances Act.
He will be produced in a local court tomorrow for further remand, a police officer said.
