Kangpokpi, September 01 2015:
People of Sadar Hills on Tuesday imposed instantaneous highway bandh along the Trans Asian Highway No 1 within Sadar Hills from Taphou Kuki to Gamgiphai and mourned the death of some persons on Monday in Churachandpur.
Young and old, men and women came out on the streets, burnt tyres and wore black flags in the Bazar to show solidarity with the people over the incidents in Churachandpur.
However, they issued a passage permit at Gamgiphai and Kangpokpi for smooth passage of private vehicles plying along the highway.
All business establishments, educational institutions and Government offices were shut for the day.
