Tribal Church leaders appeal for peace, unity

Tribal Churches Leaders' Forum (TCLF), Manipur has earnestly appealed all the communities of Manipur to maintain "peace and social co-existence."
In a press note, TCLF President Dr Rev S Lalpi Vaiphei; General Secretary Fr Paul Lelen and Treasurer Pastor Johny Shimray said given the present situation in many parts of Manipur, the TCLF prayed the Almighty God to shower His blessings of peace and brotherly love.
"Division and disunity are the seeds of evil forces which we all should fight against.
Any selfish interest may cause tension or hatred to the others", said the press note.
TCLF also recalled that for the last many years, the Meeteis, Pangals and Tribals have been living together in "Sanaleipak" and appealed all to respect all religions and foster solidarity.
The Church leaders appealed all "not to incite one another with communal tones".
Further appealing all to use the social media in a constructive way and not to spread rumours, TCLF requested all the Churches in Manipur to observe fast and prayer for peace, love and unity in Manipur.
TCLF also shared the grief of the family members of those who have died in the violent incidents related to the ILPS demand and prayed for speedy recovery and inner healing of those who have been hurt in the incidents.
