The Indian Navy is celebrating its annual conference at Eastern Naval Command headquarters, in Visakhapatnam from April 13 to 17, said a statement of PIB.
The conference will be inaugurated by the chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Sureesh Mehta.
Other senior officers from the navy, the three naval command head quarters, the Andaman and Nicobar command, and the two fleets, will also attend the function.
Mentioning some of the major operational issues, the PIB statement said that over the past six months, the navy has deployed ships continuously in the Gulf of Aden on anti-piracy missions.
The Indian Navy's contribution in maintaining security in the region has been widely acclaimed by seafarers all over the world.
Measures to further improve effectiveness of the navy in anti-piracy mission will also be deliberated during the conference.
