Chief Minister, Governor, IGAR (S) and all ranks of Assam Rifles have greeted the people of the State on the occasion of Cheiraoba.
In his message, Governor Gurbachan Jagat said, "On this occasion, we should resolve to fight and defeat the evil deeds of divisive and disruptive forces and uphold our solidarity and harmony.
Our prime need at the present moment is peace and harmony".
The Governor also expressed hope that the new year will bring peace, prosperity and happiness to the people of the State.
While extending his greetings, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi said, "With the advent of a new year, we will renew our strength to work unitedly for unity and peaceful coexistence among all the ethnic groups of Manipur".
IGAR (S) Major General AK Choudhary in his message expressed hope that the festival will herald an era of peace, progress and prosperity in the region and enhance the spirit of unity, cohesiveness and brotherhood among the people of the State.
MPCC president Gaikhangam and MPP Minority Cell also extended warm wishes to the people of the State on the occasion.
