Chief Minister, O Ibobi's commitment given during Congress rally at Ukhrul district last weekend has translated into work with government issued order allowing encashment of salaries and pensions for the month of March payable in April.
Salaries for the month of March payable in April are usually get delay in the passed years as the month is the closing month of the financial year.
Employees worried of getting this year much delay in the run up to the Lok Sabha elections which will make busy to government throughout the April month.
Government has now decided to relax the restriction imposed on the encashment of cheques/bills etc.
of the government on 19 categories, the order stated giving the list which mostly importantly included allowance to the encashment of bills for payment of salaries and pensions for the month of March and other like arrears and retirement benefits.
However, the order mention that employees whose temporary posts extension are pending will not allow drawing out their salaries.
Government departments/offices can allow passing of bills with the production of extension orders of the finance department or department of personnel.
Encashment of bills like ration money, medical advances and re-imbursements, ex-gratia relief payments, GPF within the month limit, honorarium for the ICDS staff where funds have been authorized by the finance department etc.
are among the 19 categories included in the relaxation for encashment.
