The alleged forced eviction of Naga River residents last year was commemorated today as the 'Law Breaking Day' (Forced eviction Day) at Tribal Research Institute under the aegis of the JAC against the eviction.
It may be mentioned that 22 houses including three Churches at Naga River Lane, Kabo Leikai were dismantled on May 20 last year during the eviction drive.
The eviction last year was commemorated today as per resolution of the JAC.
Silent prayer and speech from different dignitaries marked the Law Breaking Day today.
Among others, the observance programme was attended by Ex-MP and ex-Minister, BD Behring; Ramthing Hungyo, Social activist; R Daniel, Advocate, Manipur HC; M Tolkham, President TYCM and Tongpu Kipgen, President of ATCF besides the JAC members.
