Dental college on Govt menu

The Health Department and JNIMS are working together to open a dental college at JNIMS, stated Health and Family Welfare Minister Phungzathang Tonsing.
Phungzathang was speaking at the 25th anniversary of the Indian Dental Association (IDA), Manipur State Branch.
The association since its establishment in 1989 has organised a number of dental health camps across the State.
In addition to the dental colleges established at RIMS, the State Government is working to open its own dental college at JNIMS.
Lauding the contributions made by IDA, State Branch, Phungzathang said that no one can be called healthy if they do not have healthy teeth.
JNIMS Director Prof M Shyamo said he is confident of establishing a dental college in the next couple of years.
Moreover, efforts are on to open PG classes at JNIMS from next year.
As a part of the function, the Health Minister and medical professionals gathered there paid floral tributes to expired members of the association.
