Imphal, May 20 2014 :
Against the backdrop of opposition raised by an armed group over the proposed setting up of its designated camp at Semol village under Khengjoy block in Chandel district, the Kuki National Liberation Front (KNLF/KPA) has clarified that the decision to set up the outfit's designated camp at Semol was an outcome of tripartite resolution among the KNLF, Govt of Manipur and Govt of India and appealing to all concerned not to be swayed by such propaganda.
A statement issued by the I&P secretary KNLF/KPA, Kolphe Kuki said setting up of the outfit's designated camp at Semol is envied by the UKLF and started voicing their resentment through the media for reasons best known to them.
It also alleged the UKLF of mounting pressure and instigating the CNPO and CDNKJC to raise protest against the setting up of the KNLF camp in pursuit of their selfish and narrow interest which is actually against the will of the local people and the Govt authority.
The statement pointed out that setting up of its designated camp at Semol was a tripartite resolution adopted on March 26, 2014 after the outfit signed the Suspension of Operation agreement on Sept 9, 2013 .
The KNLF further urged the civil bodies that are favouring a particular group to understand the fact that the designated camp has been established for the good of the public and the organisation.
