Naga consultative meet held

Dimapur, August 25 2015:
Naga civil society organisations and public leaders today held a closed door consultative meeting at Niathu Resort in Dimapur on the August 3 'Framework Agreement' signed between the Government of India and NSCN-IM.
Naga organisations from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Nagaland took part in the meeting.
The event was addressed by NSCN-IM general secretary Th Muivah, Lok Sabha MP from Nagaland Neiphiu Rio and others.
Addressing the gathering, Th Muivah told the people that 'the Nagas cannot afford to miss the opportunity' .
At the end of the event, three resolutions were taken by the participants.
The signing of the Framework Agreement on 3rd August 2015 between the Government of India and the National Socialist Council of Nagalim must lead to an acceptable and honourable settlement of the Indo-Naga issue, reads the first resolution.
The second resolution reiterated and upheld the resolutions of the previous Naga People's consultative meetings.
The third resolution said that the Naga people, in the spirit of forgiveness and oneness will ceaselessly strive and work for restorative unity.
Meanwhile, the NSCN-IM expressed sincere gratitude and satisfaction to all the partakers as well as the well wishers from far and wide across Nagalim on the successful completion of the 8th Naga People's consultative meeting held at Niathu Resort, Dimapur on August 25 .
"We look forward to more of such significant consultation in the days to come.
At the end, it is because of our concerted effort that together we have taken a historic decision today for the Nagas.
With this confidence and affirmation we had established, NSCN will continue to work out with the Government of India what is best for the Naga people," it added.
