PHT training begins at KVK Senapati

In continuation of the DBT sponsored training programme, 7th batch of three-day training programme on post harvest technology was started at KVK, Senapati today.
The training programme was organised by Amity International Centre for Post Harvest Technology & Cold Chain Management, (AICPHT& CCM), Amity University, Noida, UP in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Hengbung, Senapati.
35 rural youth including farm women of the district would be trained during the programme.
The training programme was inaugurated today by Prof Sunil Saran, chairman (AICPHT & CCM) in presence of Dr BS Hansra, Professor Emeritus, Naga Laxmi M Raman, Asst Director and Dr Vigya Mishra, Asst Professor of AICPHT& CCM, Amity University, Noida and Dr N Jyotsna, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Senapati.

Prof Saran highlighted in brief about importance of skill development of rural youth, income and employment generation through post harvest technology.
He also encouraged trainees to develop entrepreneurship skill.
Prof Hansra informed that a state of art centre for post harvest technology will be set up at KVK, Senapati to benefit the rural youth and farmers of the district.
Naga Laxmi M Raman, Asst Director and Dr Vigya Mishra, Asst Professor from Amity University and Nemnu Hangshing from KVK-Senapati will be the resource persons during the technical sessions of the training programme.
During the 3-day training period, the trainees will be imparted hands-on training on minimally processed pineapple, mix vegetable pickle, pineapple appetizer/sweet mango pickle in jaggery, potato chips and french fries, banana, passion fruit toffee, pineapple and mango Jam, tomato ketchup, etc.
