Imphal, December 20 2014 :
Manipur BJP chief Th Chaoba today criticised the State Government for allegedly showing an unclear stand over the demand for extension of Sixth Schedule in the hill districts of the state.
"Manipur cannot be bifurcated by the Sixth Schedule.
The Okram Ibobi headed Congress Government should spell out the demand for extension of the provision in the hills", the state BJP president told media at the party office.
He alleged that the Ibobi Government has created a problem over the demand for Sixth Schedule which could seriously hurt the sentiment of the public.
"A group of Congress ministers and MLAs have been camping in New Delhi to lobby for the demand that attempts to fuel tension among the different communities of the state," he said.
The former MP chided the state Government for its inability to settle on the state boundary till date and referred to the failure of the Government to declare assets of all ministers and MLAs.
He alleged that corruption rate in the state has skyrocketed with the Government earning money through handling of all development funds kept as deposit accounts at Manipur Development Society (MDS) .
"The party has urged the BJP national leaders to allow CBI to probe various cases involving the state Government," Chaoba said.
