JCILPS Women Wing continues drive

Continuing Raj Bhavan, they were blocked by police at Keishampat junction.Nonetheless, Chaoba, Joykishan and Bishwajit were allowed to proceed and they submitted a memorandum to the demand to implement ILP or a similar mechanism in the State, JCILPS Women Wing the Governor through her secretary.
Briefing media persons after coming out from the Raj Bhavan, Th Chaoba said that they would soon call on the Governor although they could today gheraoed the residence of Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo and Thangmeiband AC MLA Kh Joykishan.
Volunteers of JCILPS Women Wing first gheraoed MLA RK Imo's residence in the morning.
Since the MLA was not at home, the volunteers met the MLA's mother.
JCILPS Women Wing convenor Thongam Apabi told the MLA's mother RK Sorijini on the need to implement ILP in the State at the earliest.
Thongam Apabi also stated how crucial the MLAs' role is in implementing ILP or a similar mechanism in order to safeguard the rights of the indigenous people of Manipur.
Acknowledging the demand for implementation of ILP, MLA RK Imo's mother RK Sorojini said that she will apprise her son of the matter.
She also said that she will also extend unconditional assistance to JCILPS Women Wing.
The volunteers later gheraoed MLA Joykishan's residence.
Women workers of MLA Joykishan and security personnel in civil dress stopped the volunteers outside the MLA's residence after which a heated argument ensued between the volunteers and MLA's women workers.
MLA Joykishan was not at home at that time,.
The volunteers said that they have started gheraoing MLAs' residence since they have not initiated stem steps in connection with the implementation of ILP in the State.
They also informed the women workers to convey the same to the MLA.
Thongam Apabi said that the MLAs should take a firm decision regarding the matter and inform the people.
